PLENA EGYPT STARTING EXPORT OF AAC TO ITS GREEK SISTER COMPANY

As part of the development and integration between PLENA GROUP’S operation in Eastern Europe and Middle East, we are proud to announce that first shipment of ACC from Delta Sand Bricks to its sister company YTONG POROBETON SA in Greece was delivered in November December with great success.

The Managing Directors (Dieter Goerres and Jon Sjoborg) of both operations were both pleased and admitted that “this is the beginning of many shipments to Greece and will have a significant cost advantage for PLENA GROUP”.

Marcus today joined the PLENA CAPITAL MGM Group as head of legal and transactions. Marcus has a legal background and valuable experiences in deal structuring and transactions. Plena is very pleased to now be working with Marcus and trusts the added value shall be noticeable in the group.

PLENA GREECE STARTS COLLABORATION WITH ITACEMENTI BULGARIA

Thrakon SA begins a co-operation with Devnya Cement AD (part of Italcementi Group) in Bulgaria for dry mortar products. This collaboration will enable Thrakon SA to enlarge its coverage in a market which is close to its factory. For Devnya Cement AD this venture will mean it may enter the market with price competitive products. “This has been under discussion for quite some time and we are pleased it finally materialised into such good understanding and which we are sure will benefit both parties” says Emanuel Papadakis (Business Development Manager for Thrakon SA).

PLENA GREECE CHANGE ITS OFFICE ADDRESS

Ytong Porobeton AEVE and Thrakon AEVE have both moved their headoffice. Their new address is: 130 Syngrou Avenue, 176 71 Athens, Greece; Phone number is +30210 36 35 515 and fax +30 210 36 40 230. The Managing Director (Jon Sjoborg) says “this will improve working conditions for our hard working employees and enable them to enjoy a much improved environment where efficiency and work atmosphere will be improved”.

PLENA BULGARIA ANNOUNCES ITS THIRD SIGNING OF A LARGE LIMESTONE CONTRACT

Plena Bulgaria signed another large long-term agreement for supplying limestone to the power plant Matiza II in Bulgaria. This is the third such contract, which has been won and it puts PLENA BULGARIA in a very strong position in the limestone market with economy of scale, knowledge and flexibility to offer better service to the customers in their best interest. The ambitious Managing Director (Mr. Nikolay Kolev) said: “Whilst this is a big day for us as it further cements our leading position in the country in the lime and limestone market, we are still only in the infancy stage of where we aim to be in 5 years time” says an ambitious Managing Director – Nikolay Kolev.

Plena Group has restructured the management internationally. Jon Sjoborg is responsible for all operations in Greece, Egypt, Bulgaria including AAC, Lime, Dry Mortar. Mattias Sjoborg is taking in-charge of the Group Finance as well as the investment in Wood industry. They will both oversee the development of activities in the UK.

PLENA EGYPT ADDS NEW BUSINESS VENTURE

Plena Egypt has employed a person who will be full time employed in ensuring that trading activities in the MENA region is being properly developed. The Managing Director commented: “ It is pleasing and encouraging to see us being able to take advantage of our construction material knowledge as well as regional knowledge in a sense that we are looking for opportunities outside our current production facilities in order to further grow the operation”.

Plena Bosnia has made a significant investment in order to enhance its quality. The new machinery from Weining, Germany, will not only improve the quality but also the capacity of the plant. Initial reactions from customers are very satisfying.

Plena Greece, including Ytong Porobeton and Thrakon S.A., has embarked a major restructuring of the company, which will eventually include every part of the company. Jon Sjoborg has taken over the Managing Director position and will lead the restructuring.

PLENA AB DISPOSES OF CBC ENGINEERING

Plena AB’s board has agreed to sell CBC Engineering as it does no longer form part of a business segment which Plena AB would like to continue investing into. CBC Engineering projects and builds AAC plants around the world. It was sold to SVESTEN AB.

PLENA BOSNIA AGREES ON COMPLETION OF TRANSACTION

Plena Bosnia has after several months of final negotiation agreed with all the banks as well as the owner regarding the conclusion of the takeover of the wood processing plan in Bosnia, which was already initially agreed in the beginning of this year. Plena will start the reconstruction of the operation during second quarter of 2006.

PLENA AB RESTRUCURE ITS SHAREHOLDINGS IN CBC AND NV-TEKNIK

CBC Engineering’s, a Plena AB group company, has sold its share in NV-Teknik AB to Plena AB. Hence has NV-TEKNIK become a direct daughter company of Plena AB. This is a natural step as NV-Teknik and CBC focus on different business segments and do not have a strong related business model.

PLENA AB INCREASES ITS SHAREHOLDING IN DELMAT

Plena AB has increased its shareholding from 37.5% to 50.5%. As part of the company’s growth as well as investment plans a restructuring of Delmat’s shareholders was a natural step in order to secure a strong and long term shareholder for the company. Plena AB view this as a very interesting company, which has significant growth potential in ready made food market.

PLENA EGYPT INTRODUCES A NEW LIGHTER PRODUCT

Plena Egypt’s large investment program has started to yield result. The first face of its investment program is now completed and one of the factories (ABASA) can now produce a material not previously found in Egypt. The material is ca. 25% lighter than the weight of the previous material yet the strength and durability etc remains in the product. The Managing Director said “It is a proud day in the company history that we now can offer our customers a product with such good characteristics. A product like this in Egypt should save the construction companies substantial amounts in the total cost of each building”.

Plena made an add-on acquisition to its already existing Flex Fasader business unit. This will allow Plena to serve the customers with a full product range and thereby also be competitive in the smaller project market”.

PLENA BULGARIA SIGNS ITS LARGEST CONTRACT

Plena Bulgaria signed its largest and most important supply contract in its history today. The customer, Maritza I, run by the American company AES, was also pleased to announce Plena as one major supplier to its power plant in Maritza. The contract runs for 15 years with a value over 50 million Euros. It is estimated that deliveries should start during 2009. The Managing Director of Plena Bulgaria (Mr. Nikolai Kolev) stated: “this is a significant day for Plena as it further strengthens the strategy adopted two years ago in which Plena Bulgaria becomes the main producer and distributor of both lime and limestone material in Bulgaria”.

PLENA STRENGTHENS ITS GLASS BUILDING SOLUTION SEGMENT

Plena today completed its acquisition of Fasadia AB. Fasadia will be a strong complement to the already existing company Flex fasader in the smaller but profitable market segment of the industry. Plena will thereby have a complete range of glasswall solutions enabling them to offer a cost efficient solution whatever the size of the project. Plena aims to become the strongest partner in the glasswall solution market in Scandinavia in the next three years.

PLENA AB REPORTS ITS BEST FINANCIAL YEAR

Plena AB reports that the financial year of 2004 was the strongest in its 25 year history. Plena AB’s development over the last few years has been extraordinary. The company restructured and closed non profitable businesses during the year. Its health care division, the star of Plena AB, has gone from strength to strength and posted another record profit for 2004. Today Plena AB has a strong financial position and is currently looking for ways to expand its operations.

EMANUEL PAPADAKIS JOINS PLENA AS INVESTMENT ASSOCIATE

Plena is pleased to announce the strengthening of its team by Mr. Papadakis. Mr. Papadakis was born and raised in Australia but later moved to Greece with his family. Shortly thereafter he moved to UK were he graduated from the department of Accountancy and Business Finance at Dundee University. Before Mr. Papadakis joined Plena he worked for Ubrach Hacker Young Chartered accountants where he completed all his examinations to qualify as an ACCA and was in charge of the International Business Services department in Greece. Mr. Papadakis will focus his time on due diligence work for various investment opportunities, industry analysis, and accountancy work with group consolidation.

PLENA BIH ENTERS WOOD SECTOR

Plena BiH today signed an agreement with both Hidroinjenering and its largest creditor (UPI Banka) to buy the company. Hidroinjenering has one of the most modern sawmill plants in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is located near Sarajevo. Future work will be to turnaround the sawmill and expand sales internationally. With previous experience with forestry products, Plena Holding looks to forestry products (both semi finished and final products) to become a significant industry sector in the Plena Group.

PLENA'S MINORITY COMPANY, DELMAT, RECEIVES "THE FOOD PRODUCT OF THE YEAR FROM IKEA"

Delmat, an minority shareholding company in the food secotr, was awared ”the food product of the year” from the world wide IKEA Group. The announcement was made by IKEA’s owner Mr. Ingvar Kamprad and the product (Seven pizzas in one package) will now be available in every IKEA store world wide.

PLENA GREECE REORGANISATION

The boards Ytong Porobeton and Thrakon agreed to merge their management. The Managing Director of the two companies will be Ms. Dimitra Tzourmakliotou. The new structure will substantially reduce fixed costs and will focus sales and marketing to a targeted customer base.

PLENA HOLDING SELLS ITS CEMENT ASSETS IN BOSNIA

Plena Holding sold its cement related assets in Plena BiH to Heidelberg Cement. Plena today signed an SPA agreement with Kakanj Cement from Bosnia and Herzegovina owned by Heidelberg Cement. After Heidelberg’s acquisition of Kakanj Cement in beginning of 2000, today’s agreement was a natural addition to the development of the local cement industry.

PLENA BULGARIA IS AWARDED BEST IT IMPLEMENTATION IN BULGARIA 2004

Plena Bulgaria won the award for best IT implementation in Bulgaria during 2004. The most reputable computer magazine in Bulgaria awards each year one company in Bulgaria for the most efficient IT implementation. Plena Group was very proud to learn that Plena Bulgaria’s ERP implementation got the award for 2004. The man leading the project was Stefan Markov, Plena Bulgaria’s Financial Manager. Reason given for the award was: “with a small budget, Plena Bulgaria managed to build an efficient integrated ERP system, and further develop the system to generate detailed atomized management reports describing every aspect of the cost and revenue a manager can possibly need to run his/her operation efficiently”.
