Plena Group was founded as a Swedish family investment company in 1980. Today, Plena Group is an international investment house with its base in Luxembourg and operated by professional investment managers.
Plena has over the years operated companies in several countries in mature as well as developing and early stage markets. Plena initially invested in industries such as construction materials, natural resources, mining and real estate, yet has over the years held assets in most sectors of industry and commerce.
Since its inception the group has grown through financially prudent execution of numerous cross border acquisitions. Today, Plena Group focuses on emerging markets such as MENA, Africa and Far East in industries such as Construction material, Energy, Financial services and Venture Capital.
Plena’s sustained success results from fostering an entrepreneurial mind-set amongst our managers, employing cautious financial policies, managing investments actively as well as committing to the enterprises over a longer period. Typical investment size ranges from EUR 500 thousand up to EUR 20 million.
How we like to deploy our capital depending on the investment opportunity:
- Controlling equity stakes in mature industries where Plena takes the lead role in managing and developing the business with a certain investment period in mind.
- Minority equity stakes in early stage and venture capital where Plena takes supervisory position to help start-ups or growth companies with strategy, access to funding and the right people.
- High Yield corporate debt on a selective basis with strong collateral.
